The connection here is with the author, Bram Stoker. This is New Slains Castle, perched on the cliffs above Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire. Stoker stayed nearby in the late 19th century and was so struck by the dramatic setting that it likely inspired the description of Count Dracula’s Transylvanian lair in his 1897 novel.
