Earthball (Scleroderma) ASMR. These are mycorrhizal mushrooms, associated here with Oak. They are “gasteroid” meaning the spores develop internally (similar to a puffball). They are inedible/mildly toxic and can differentiated from edible puffballs by their tough yellow skin and black/purple spore mass (gleba). Earthballs are not particularly interesting mushrooms to photograph on their own. By tapping and touching the mushroom, it makes for a far more dynamic piece of content that will engage a
