Sadly, hundreds of Australian flying-foxes become caught in large aperture fruit tree netting each year. Although we have had a relatively light season so far, it is always distressing to see an animal trussed up and suffering. We received a call from a local vet this morning for a bat in a box and after cutting open the box, this is what we found. This poor girl is lactating. We can't release her immediately due to her injuries and this means that her baby back at the colony will die. Please ne
