One of my favorite guitar and banjo heroes of all time is a black woman named Elizabeth Cotten from Carrboro, North Carolina! Between 2005-2008, I lived in her hometown of Carrboro and from that moment on I started learning how to play in the piedmont blues guitar style that she made famous! Now, the town has officially declared that today is “Libba Cotten Day” which makes me feel so proud and it’s a perfect way to celebrate her heavenly birthday! *Here’s a short video of my instrumental arrange
