The first ever footage of a Colossal Squid in its natural habitat has been filmed.... and it's a baby! The squid was captured on film as part of an expedition to the South Sandwich Islands led by Dr Michelle Taylor of the School of Life Sciences at University of Essex. The Schmidt Ocean Institute and Ocean Census expedition was searching for new marine life in the Antarctic region, which is so secluded the nearest humans were hundreds of miles away in orbit on the International Space Station. ht
