The Monument to the Ghetto Heroes (Polish: Pomnik Bohaterów Getta) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943 during the Second World War. It is located in the area which was formerly a part of the Warsaw Ghetto, at the spot where the first armed clash of the uprising took place.

The American Memorial to Six Million Jews of Europe, also referred to as the Warsaw Ghetto Memorial, is a public Holocaust memorial situated at Warsaw Ghetto Memorial Plaza in Riverside Park, within the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City.

This memorial remembers the six million Jewish men, women and children killed under Nazi rule, and is dedicated specifically to the people of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943 who resisted and fought back rather than be sent to the Nazi death camps.

Apr 17, 2023 · On April 19, 1943, the Warsaw ghetto uprising began after German troops and police entered the ghetto to deport its surviving inhabitants. Jewish insurgents inside the ghetto resisted these efforts. This was the largest uprising by Jews during World War II and the first significant urban revolt against German occupation in Europe.

The monument was the place to celebrate the successive anniversaries of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (19 April). It played (and still plays) an important role as a Holocaust memorial. The monument was paid homage to the murdered Jews by important figures, such as John Paul II, Dalai Lama XIV, Bill Clinton, Jim Carter, Yuri Gagarin and Willy Brandt.
