Jun 18, 2020 · 1440p is definitely worth the upgrade for a PC monitor where you're up close. I kinda prefer it to 4K at the moment since 4K requires SO MUCH MORE horsepower for relatively little gain. And thankfully, most modern games don't have issues with non-scaling user interfaces. That was a real problem back when I first got a 1440p monitor.

Mar 9, 2021 · I've played mine on my 1440p 27" rog swift monitor using an mclassic dongle and it looked very nice. Edit: the mclassic effect is subtle, but noticeable. If you dislike jaggers, then it definitely does a job. As has been mentioned, it may help in providing a better image when upscaling to 1440p.

Sep 27, 2022 · 1440p is a good picture, I agree, and an easy choice for performance modes vs 4k/30 modes. Honestly, the only difference I can usually see going up to full 4K is that the image looks slightly sharper, but it doesn't really bring out any additional detail that I can make out from my usual sitting distance.

Mar 4, 2021 · My TV went kaput so i ended up picking up a tcl 6 series. I'm debating setting my Xbox up between 1440p 120hz, or 4k 60hz. The TV doesn't support 4k 120hz. My original instinct is go for the 120hz but here are my wrinkles: 1-Most of my gaming is done on switch, so most games are 30fps and it has never bothered me.

Nov 9, 2023 · The HDR on this monitor is ghastly, absolutely not worth using and I recommend you switch it off. It's not 4k exactly, but for the purpose of argument, the difference between 1440p (i.e. 3840x1440) and 4k (3840x1600) is the height of the screen, there are 160 more vertical pixels on the 38" leading to a slightly taller aspect ratio.
