Suggestions for a holster for G20 while backpacking
Sep 16, 2019 · 3 posts · Joined 2002. #1 · Sep 16, 2019. Looking for a suggestion on a holster. I went on a multi-day backpacking in Wyoming this past summer and carried a Glock 20 as my sidearm. This was on an open carry, using a belt mounted OWB kydex-style holster. The issue is that the waist strap from my pack kept interfering with the Glock.

Jul 23, 2016 · Last summer I had a S&W 500 4" and carried it hiking in a Diamond D holster. I wore it over a t-shirt and under my backpack, and it never really felt 'right' to me. It seemed to walk around on my chest and my shoulder, and the leather would stretch a bit after a few hours of being soaked with sweat under my backpack.

Oct 16, 2014 · 1-Use a Tek-Lok to attach the holster to pack-belt. Pop it off and put it on your belt when you remove the pack. 2-Use a low-ride holster or fabricate the low-ride addition to your holster yourself with kydex. Find a way to make the "belt loop" comfortable under the pack-belt.

Jun 14, 2013 · I usually carry OWB in a Raven Concealment holster, but for school I think I will carry my G23 more in my backpack in order to reduce the likelihood of an involuntary Glock sighting on Campus. I found a Blackhawk messenger bag with a CCW pocket on the side that I really like it. Before I buy it, I want to investigate holster options however.

Feb 9, 2021 · Here is a list I've taken in the past: Glock 27, Glock 26, Glock 43X, Glock 29, S&W M&P 340 (357), and probably the largest (but light) S&W 327 (8 shot 357). I often carry Buffalo Bore hard cast for woods carry. Never know when you need that penetration and there is less concern for a pass-through in the woods.
