Feb 16, 2005 · GLS = same as GL but with 2 carbs. I heard some 99 GLS came with automatic T/M, but I don't know about the 900 GLE = Luxery model with injection ( I think the E = German Einspritsung) and automatic T/M. But this suffix is only used with the early B-engine. EMS = Sporty model with injection and B-engine I = injection with H-engine Blacky

Jun 20, 2012 · It is a 74 (late 73 production) Saab 99 EMS. It became an ITB car in 91 and is pretty much stripped by now. The clutch slave was leaking on track and the driver killed the transmission.

It came with its maintance history from 1980 on. the car was only driven 500 miles in the lasst 10 years. It arrived yesterday and starts and drives but has no power.

Apr 29, 2024 · Hello new member here looking for advice. I have a nice 1975 99 EMS. It has driven perfectly for the 2 years that I’ve owned it. This winter I noticed some slight bucking (juddering?) at stop signs . Then the other night I went out for a rally and It started bucking badly under load in all gears. Starts up fine always.

Jun 18, 2023 · So I picked these up from an old gentleman Saab enthusiast who used them on his 99 and his 900 because the original wheel size was a 15 1/2 inch wheel (!) with tires only made only by Michelin. He recalled that he made quarter inch spacers for these to clear the calipers on the 900, as they were made to go on 99's with drum brakes.

Aug 31, 2021 · My first 99 was a '73 carbed car. When I scraped the car (rust) I kept the carb setup to use in case I came across a nice 99 with dead FI. I have no idea what happened to it : D I'd love to have it, but I certainly don't need it. I think the Super carb setup is super cool (duh!) and I have a set on my Bright Yellow 73 EMS. John

May 2, 2008 · I used motorsport-parts (which btw was a lot cheaper in the end than an original Saab-Part). I used some aluminium-connectors and stainless-steel lines (don't remember exactly which size, probably dash-3 or dash-4). This setup is very reliable and easy to build. Can't help you with a source for the parts in the US as I am from Germany.
