Jul 19, 2021 · Unfortunately I think metal gear is a hard sell as a live action for those reasons to even get the green light. That's why I think animation is the way to go as it would cost much less than live action and with the right animation studio and excellent voice actors we could get we could get a no compromise faithful adaptation.

Nov 12, 2020 · I'm playing through the original PS1 version and just met Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and when he was describing his motivations for being a scientist and working on Metal Gear the game cut to a breif clip of a mecha anime. I've spent the last 20 min. searching through this subreddit and using a search engine to no avail.

Sep 30, 2023 · Not saying an anime would be good either but a live action movie seems like the absolute dumbest avenue to go. metal gear solid is practically a playable action movie to begin with so by making it a movie all you do is take away from it. There is a reason video game movies don't usually work and for metal gear that would go ten fold

If the Metal Gear series were being adapted in to animated media, I’d want Genndy Tartakovski (the guy responsible for Star Wars: Clone Wars and Samurai Jack) at the helm. He can do serious, dark content, and bad ass, ridiculous combat scenes. That said, I’d have one of the big Japanese studios do Rising.

The Metal Gear game that I played was was me spending 30% of my time on base management from the command center, 30% on kidnapping soldiers to brainwash them to join my organization, 15% driving around picking shit up and 15% on actual mission work. I can't think of any anime that's like that. But maybe check out Princess Principal, it's cool.
