The Lancashire Watch Company of Prescot was founded in 1889 by Thomas P. Hewitt as a rival to the large American and Swiss watch companies. It failed in 1910. Until the late 19th century, Prescot had been the centre of the watchmaking trade in England.

Sep 17, 2011 · You're right that the casemaker's mark is Thomas Peter Hewitt, and Hewitt is registered as a Director of Lancashire Watch Co, The Watch Factory, Warrington Road, Prescot LANCASHIRE. I believe LWC had their own casemaking facility.
