Dec 8, 2022 · New problem, I'm not sure if the CPU I initially chose, the Ryzen 5 5600, is good enough. Will it bottleneck the RX 6800 XT? I considered either upgrading the cpu to a Ryzen 7 5700X (~$200 instead of ~$140) or downgrading the gpu to a RX 6700 XT (~$380 instead of ~$520). Any other suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Oct 6, 2021 · Yes it's more than good, I use a RX 6800 on a 1440p monitor and most of my games are maxed out running at 120fps (monitor is set to 120Hz instead of 144Hz for the Xbox console which won't run 1440/120 at the same time in 144Hz mode). Hopefully you can sell that Vega 64 at a reasonably high price since it's a very popular card among miners.

Feb 18, 2023 · The 6800's memory bandwidth requirements are relatively lax in comparison to the 6800 XT/6900 XT. Although I've heard a few murmurs here & there that pushing FCLK from 1.55GHz -> 1.94GHz makes an impact in terms of RT performance, which I'd be interested in testing myself soon.

Mar 16, 2021 · There is a reason one would still profit from flashing a 6800 to an xt or 900. The driver software oc limit is coupled to the detected gpu. If cou can trick the driver into thinking it is an 6900xt you will be able to use higher mV and clocks. And sadly the card is capable of higher voltages and clocks than the driver allows.
