Jess Lockwood (born September 28, 1997) is an American professional rodeo cowboy who specializes in bull riding. He competed in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuit from 2015 to 2024. He was the PBR Rookie of the Year in 2016.

Jess Lockwood is a young bull rider in a hurry. Lockwood, of Volborg, planned to begin his pro career when he turned 18 in September. To focus on bull riding, he will take on-line classes to finish high school this year.

Oct 10, 2024 · Starting next season, the young bull riding talent will dedicate himself exclusively to PRCA events, the most traditional rodeo organization in the United States. His official debut will be this weekend at the NILE ProRodeo in Billings, Montana.

Nov 14, 2014 · Jess did more than just hang on he won the final round with a 80.5 ride and won the average putting him at the top of the year end standings by $479.70. Congratulations Jess Lockwood on your 2014 NRA Bull Riding Championship.

May 3, 2024 · In front of a raucous crowd, jolting pyrotechnic displays, and lasers beaming from the rafters onto the shimmering dirt of T-Mobile Arena, Lockwood won the first three rounds of six in the world finals, the first rider ever to do so.

Oct 8, 2024 · Volborg's Jess Lockwood, pictured competing at the Professional Bull Riders Wrangler Invitational at First Interstate Arena at MetraPark in 2021, will make his return to bull riding at the NILE rodeo Friday at the Metra.

People in Montana have good reason to be proud of Jess Lockwood. Last November, at the age of 20, he became the youngest person ever, and the first from Montana, to win the Professional Bull Riders World Championship in Las Vegas.

After school got out last summer, Wacey Schalla came to the NRA from Oklahoma to fine-tune his skills.
