You can access the digital objects from "Austrian Books Online" either via the Austrian National Library central catalogue or via the digital reading room "ÖNB Digital". In the Quicksearch library catalogue you can search through the "Historical Full Texts" . For each hit, you can see a preview of the digitised book.

Furthermore, by buying a day ticket or annual membership card, you have complete access to our wide range of library services, to the Internet and to subscribed databases, as well as electronic magazines.Our librarians will be happy to advise and provide support with scientific research.

Four magnificent Venetian globes with a diameter of over one metre complete the heart of the Austrian National Library. With over 200,000 historical books, the unique library hall is one of the most beautiful in the world and was last subjected to extensive conservation measures in 1955.

Get to know the museums and current exhibitions of the Austrian National Library! You can take part at the public guided tours without registration. But also private tours are possible.
