Since Apple makes it inconvenient to listen to the audio book industry standard, DRM-free M4Bs or MP3s we make available directly (or even via our RSS feeds, if they aren't specifically added to their podcast directory), iPhone and iPad users need apps like this instead.

May 3, 2011 · Thanks for sharing David! It's exciting to see the growth of audiobooks in 2024. Even though AI is getting better, the feeling and connection from a real reader is still irreplaceable. Hopefully Librivox will also get more recognition in the future!

Is there any other kind of audiobook? Well, yes. Text-to-speech (TTS) technology speaks aloud digital text using a computer-generated voice, or a highly manipulated human voice.

Feb 14, 2019 · I especially appreciate it because that's how I found Librivox -- I had bad insomnia for years and used "boring" videos to fall asleep, which led me to ASMR and recorded college lectures and also to Librivox audiobooks.

Apr 27, 2012 · I was able to transfer two audiobooks from my computer to my Kindle Fire through a USB port. I did try to download directly from the LV catalog to my Kindle, but that did not work. So, some success! Off to load up my Kindle!
