First observation: never take delivery in Lynnwood. 20 miles away in Bellevue you're saving 0.5%. Second observation: you would save 1.2% by picking up in Spokane and drive 300 miles back to Seattle.

When I leased my first Tesla Model 3 in early 2021, I had to pay the $2400 +/- sales tax and registration separate from the down payment of approx. $4500. This time around in December 2023, I had the option to have the taxes and fees included in the finance.

California Sales Tax on MY Lease, is this right?
Apr 7, 2021 · I emailed Tesla Financial about it and the response I received was that the sales tax is 9.25% to explain the total amount. Hmm... the last time I checked, sales tax in CA for auto is 7.25%? Even if you went with our local higher tax in Palm Desert, it is 7.75% sales tax. Am I missing something?

Feb 10, 2022 · Guys, tax credits are treated like mfr. rebates when it comes to sales tax. I don't know what "before or after tax" means, but the credit does not reduce the tax. So if the car is $55k and the credit takes the price down to $45k, the tax still applies to the $55k figure.
