NEW YORK — One day after acquiring a new starting third baseman, the Yankees made another trade to bolster their infield depth. The Yankees added veteran infielder Amed Rosario from the Nationals on Saturday night in exchange for Triple-A reliever Clayton Beeter and Browm Martinez, an 18-year-old outfielder in the Dominican Summer League.
After a 12-run, 14-hit outburst Friday night, the Phillies pounded 13 hits and drew seven walks Saturday. They’ll take aim at a sweep on Sunday.
The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are both reportedly pursuing a trade for the same All-Star utilityman from the St. Louis Cardinals.
