After Friday night’s 9-6 win over the Red Sox, Boone had to think about what he wanted to do with shortstop Anthony Volpe, who had to leave after three innings with a left elbow concussion that occurred on a second-inning, bases-loaded hit by pitch.

Anthony Volpe was not in the New York Yankees' lineup Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, a day after getting hit in the left elbow by Walker Buehler's pitch. The durable shortstop missed just his second game of the season.

Boone hopes to have Volpe back in the order for Sunday’s series finale against the Sox. He added that Volpe would be available if needed on Saturday.
