SAN FRANCISCO – Jonathan Kuminga’s time in contract limbo appears destined to go down to the Wednesday night wire. The restricted free agent who averaged 15.3 points per game last season has until 9 p.m. PT on Wednesday — the second day of Warriors training camp to accept the $7.9 million qualifying offer.
Stephen Curry understands Jonathan Kuminga is still trying to figure out what his contract situation will be for the upcoming season, but the Golden State Warriors star still expects his teammate to be dialed in when it's time to play.
However, the Warriors still have to wait on Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton to officially sign their contracts with the team, despite getting firm commitments from both. This means that the Warriors will not have their full roster in time for the start of training camp, which is far from ideal.
It will be the first official signing for the Warriors, though Horford has been linked to the Warriors since free agency’s early days in July. At times, the lack of developments and public comments has caused some consternation from Warriors fans and conflicting messages from reporters.
So I’ve really tried to keep up with Coach Nick’s stuff to admire his basketball genius and learn more about the nuance of the NBA game. This classic video here during the Death Lineup era when the Warriors employed Kevin Durant and ran roughshod through the league in brutally entertaining fashion.
Jonathan Kuminga remains the focal point of the Golden State Warriors’ offseason. The 22-year-old was a solid contributor for the team last year, averaging 15.3 points off the bench while showing flashes on both ends of the floor.
Al Horford will enter his 19th NBA season with the Golden State Warriors. The five-time All-Star agreed to a multi-year contract with the team.
