Russian officials say they have now received the revised U.S.-backed proposal to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine, after high-level talks between American and Ukrainian negotiators in Geneva.

President Donald Trump, whose envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Moscow next week, said he had no deadline for a deal after earlier pressuring Kyiv to endorse a proposal by Thanksgiving.

A senior Ukrainian defense official told Business Insider that the Delta system has increased combat efficiency and decision-making speed.

NATO scrambled fighter jets in Polish and Romanian airspace overnight as Russia carried out massive drone and missile strikes in western Ukraine, killing at least 25 people, three of them children.

Amid this opposition, a series of meetings is expected. Today, there will be a meeting between US and Russian officials in Abu Dhabi, and a virtual one between the coalition of the willing, hosted by Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron. Ukraine's official also says they expect a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump in the next few days.

In all, Russia has occupied only an additional 1% of territory since November 2022, war-watchers agree. Most of the 20% of Ukraine that Russia controls is made up of land seized by Russian-backed fighters after 2014, and the illegally annexed Crimean Peninsula.

Ukraine has identified a Russian commander it accuses of “systematic and coordinated war crimes” in Bucha, near Kyiv, where hundreds of civilians were murdered during its brief occupation by Russian troops in 2022.
