ATLANTA — Pete Alonso knows a lot about his hometown of Tampa and a lot about playing major-league baseball. And the Mets’ All-Star first baseman has a couple ideas on where the Rays should build a new stadium in his hometown.

The sixth and final Gator off the board in the 2025 MLB draft was catcher/designated hitter Brody Donay, who hit 32 home runs with Florida.

A deal to purchase the team from Stuart Sternberg is in place, with a September closing possible. But Sternberg would remain in control until the season ends.

The deal could signal a sweeping series of sell moves by the O's, who now have seven picks in the top 100 on Sunday.
