FOXBOROUGH — Stefon Diggs made a bold admission on Wednesday, telling reporters that he's been playing through a broken finger he sustained a couple of weeks ago. But when asked about it, Drake Maye couldn't help but take the opportunity to roast his teammate.

Drake Maye is making it clear that Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs should be in the running for a top award this season.

Diggs has played an instrumental role in Drake Maye’s breakout season, emerging as the second-year quarterback’s most trusted target. Diggs is on pace to finish with his seventh 1,000-yard season, a mark he hit four times with the Buffalo Bills.

Signing a three-year deal with the Patriots in free agency, Diggs’ work allowed him to be fully cleared for the beginning of training camp after spending the spring limited. It was there his chemistry truly began to develop with Maye — one that has now carried over to start the regular season.
