STATEN ISLAND - A woman was stabbed to death on Staten Island during a brawl involving nearly two dozen people, according to reports. Police have identified the woman as 43-year-old Jennira Roundtree. Roundtree had four kids, worked for a security company and was a caretaker for her friends in the building, a neighbor told Gothamist.

Police were looking for suspects on Wednesday after a woman was fatally stabbed on Tuesday night at a public housing complex on Staten Island, according to the NYPD.

A 43-year-old woman was fatally stabbed near her Staten Island home on Tuesday evening, authorities said. At around 7:35 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault near the West Brighton Houses apartment complex located at 820 Henderson Ave.

Police say 43-year-old Jennira Roundtree was stabbed in the chest and slashed in the stomach during a large fight near a city-run apartment complex.

Shoulders were cried on and hugs were shared at the bitterly cold, mournful gathering in front 820 Henderson Ave.
