It's been raining off and on throughout the weekend. And more rain is expected this week. But meteorologists have a present in store for Christmas Day.

Tinsel is hanging, presents are wrapped and the turkey has been purchased - the big day is nearly upon us. Christmas is just around the corner and whilst many of us will stay at home, some will have to make big journeys to see family and friends for the festive break.

Parts of Munster will see 13C today - it will be especially mild along our southwest coast and in Cork City - while tonight, temps will stay between 8-11C, meaning that far from a White Christmas, we're very unlikely to even see frost between now and the weekend.
