The man who fell from the top of a 21-foot-high wall onto the warning track at PNC Park during a game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night is awake and alert.

The fan who fell onto the field at PNC Park earlier this week, identified as Kavan Markwood, is “awake and continuing to work toward making his body stronger each day,” according to a post on social media from his girlfriend Alonna Brown.

The Pittsburgh Pirates fan who was critically injured in a fall from the stands at PNC Park on Wednesday is "making remarkable progress" in his recovery, his family said in a statement.
