MLB offseason came when the San Francisco Giants dismissed  Bob Melvin. The move was followed by the Minnesota Twins firing Rocco Baldelli later Monday afternoon.  San Francisco's move came one day after the Giants ended the regular season with an 81-81 record while Minnesota made its change after finishing 70-92.

The Detroit Tigers will be without third baseman Colt Keith in the American League wild-card series against the Cleveland Guardians.

The Tigers will play the Cleveland Guardians in the MLB playoffs for a postseason rematch from last October.
