The Agreement, which was signed on 31 December 1988 and entered into force on 27 January 1991 provides, among other things, that India and Pakistan inform each other of the nuclear installations and facilities to be covered under the agreement on the first of January of every calendar year.

Simultaneously, the government of India shared the list of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails to an officer of Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi. According to the list, there were a total of 462 Pakistanis in Indian jails (381 civilian prisoners and 81 fishermen).

India and Pakistan exchanged lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen under the 2008 Consular Access Agreement. India has urged Pakistan to expedite the release of 183 Indians who have completed their sentences.

As per a treaty signed in 1988, India and Pakistan have exchanged the list of nuclear facilities. The exchange of lists is conducted every year.

Pakistan and India on Wednesday exchanged lists of nuclear facilities as well as civilian prisoners, including fishermen, according to official statements from both countries. A statement from Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said the two South Asian nuclear neighbors exchanged lists of nuclear installations and facilities.
