This video shows the launch of NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) NISAR satellite. It launched from the southeast Indian coast on Wednesday 30 July 2025. After the successful launch the payload will orbit Earth for at least three years using its sophisticated radar systems to scan nearly all the planet's land and ice surfaces twice every 12 days.

India will launch the NISAR Earth-observing spacecraft, a joint effort of ISRO and NASA, on July 30, and you can watch the action live.

NISAR, an Earth-monitoring satellite equipped with dual radar systems, will monitor changes to Earth’s surface and assist with natural disaster response.
