The July full moon didn't disappoint as it rode low across the horizon last night and we've got the photos to prove it.

The moon will reach its peak at 4:37 p.m. EDT on July 10. During moonrise the lunar disk appears larger than it is as it is positioned close to the horizon. It tricks our brains into giving the illusion that it's larger than it is when viewed. It will be most visible after sunset at 8:53 p.m. EDT.

July's full moon is just around the corner, and this full moon is unique for 2025. That's because this full moon comes less than one week after Earth reached what is known as aphelion, or the part of its orbit where it is farthest from the sun. That means this full moon will mark the farthest from the sun in 2025, according to Space.com.
