The stock markets will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas. On Tuesday, investors showed caution leading to minor declines in BSE Sensex and Nifty50 amidst foreign fund outflows.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in observance of Christmas. This holiday coincides with other global stock markets, including those in the US, UK, and Europe, which are also shut for the festive season.

Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, opened in green on Tuesday. While BSE Sensex was above 78,500, Nifty50 was above 23,750.

As the year comes to a close, the investors are finishing up their last-minute trades before getting into the festivities. However, the traders will not be able to place any trades on Wednesday. The stock market will remain closed on December 25,

No trading or settlement activities will occur in the stocks, derivatives, or securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments on December 25.

Banks will be closed nationwide on Wednesday, 25 December, on the occasion of Christmas, according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) list of bank holidays. In some states, Christmas celebrations will extend until December 27 as well.
