Police believe a 45-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Thursday morning in Penn North, blocks away from where officers responded to a mass overdose.

Officials say the overdose numbers are expected to grow as more cases are investigated around the neighborhood, which is being treated as an active crime scene

Community leaders and local organizations are helping city agencies after more than 27 people overdosed in West Baltimore on Thursday.
