The Bob Sikes Fishing Pier is a popular spot for fishermen hoping to reel in their best catch. Now, plans are in the works for upgrades to the south side of the pier.
Project leaders with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel reported that Chessie, the tunnel boring machine used to dig the second tunnel, had broken through at the second island.
The project will repair corroded railing and cracked beams, make the pier ADA complaint, improve lighting and signage, and more.
