Nvidia is kicking off CES with a big keynote next week, and everyone is pretty sure they know at least one thing that's going to be announced. When the PC hardware company takes the stage on Jan. 6, it's widely expected that Nvidia will lift the veil on the GeForce RTX 5000 series of graphics cards.

Graphics cards are apparently just getting bigger and bigger, and the Nvidia RTX 5090 might just be the most power-hungry mainstream graphics card of the last decade, at a reported 575 W TDP. Over on X,

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 appears to have leaked online, thanks to a couple of photos of the retail packaging for what appears to be an overclocked (OC) version of the card from one of Nvidia's third-party partners.

Leaks last month from Zotac and Acer indicated that Nvidia may reveal as many as five RTX 50 series GPUs very soon, including an RTX 5090, an RTX 5080, and an 5070 Ti. VideoCardz also reported today on a leak of an RTX 5080 from MSI featuring 16GB of GDDR7 memory.

A new rumor suggests both the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will ship with higher power ratings than the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080.

Nvidia really knows how to tease its products. The graphics card maker appears to have left an RTX 50 Easter egg in its video promoting its upcoming GeForce LAN 50 party – which, incidentally, is also promoting RTX 50.
