MILWAUKEE (AP) — Marquette has promoted Mike Broeker to take over as athletic director from the retiring Bill Scholl.

Marquette University has named Bill Scholl’s successor as director of athletics. University President Kimo Ah Yun on Tuesday announced the promotion of Mike Broeker to vice president and director of athletics, succeeding Scholl, who is retiring after 10 years at the institution.

Marquette has promoted Mike Broeker to athletic director. Broeker has been the school's assistant AD for the past 18 years and will replace the retiring Bill Scholl.

Mike Broeker has nearly three decades of athletics administration experience and is in his 18th year as deputy director of athletics at Marquette.
