Rooney was charged with impersonating a public servant and simple assault. He was taken to the Westmoreland County Prison and denied bail due to being deemed a flight risk.

The Wilpen Volunteer Fire Company said SR 271 was closed in Fairfield Township between Rachelwood Drive and the Westmoreland County line. It has since reopened partially, firefighters said.
