Morgan Geekie knows he’s been given a great chance to play with David Pastrnak. Now the two are bringing out the best in each other.
But Nikita Zadorov is one of the more aware athletes that you’ll find and, after the B’s structured 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday at the Garden, he’d like nothing more than to force management to hold its cards after team president Cam Neely said recently that a retool could be on the table.
The Boston Bruins visit the Buffalo Sabres after Morgan Geekie scored two goals in the Bruins' 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie dropped a very stern message to the team, including captain Brad Marchand and interim head coach Joe Sacco after a harsh 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
Geekie did not stop there, though, as he also scored the Bruins' game-winning at the 5:44 mark of the third period. Pastrnak once again set up Geekie with an outstanding feed, and Geekie snapped it home for his second of the game.
The Bruins, who had eight shots on goal through two periods, tied the game 1-1 when Geekie scored 25 seconds into the third period. Geekie then gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead at 5:44. Pastrnak controlled the puck behind the Colorado net, skated around Wedgewood's right side, and found Geekie on the far post for the backdoor tap-in goal.
Geekie netted two goals on two shots in a 3-1 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
