The breakthrough, aided by advances in DNA testing, comes after more than three decades of investigation into one of Austin’s most notorious unsolved cases.

Through genetic genealogy investigations, Austin police say they linked Robert Brashers to the 1991 killings of four teen girls in a yogurt shop.

Police now say the killer was Robert Eugene Brashers, describing him as a serial killer with a gruesome criminal past.
