The Met Office are now warning of more strong winds and heavy rain on Sunday, following a a sunny start to the weekend for many. While many areas will start the day dry, the weather is expected to deteriorate quickly from the west. The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for wind and rain in anticipation of the weather's impact.

In this edition of Weather Tidbits, we’ll be discussing the difference between a Wind Advisory and a High Wind Warning. A Wind Advisory is issued when strong winds are expected to occur but are not so strong as to warrant a High Wind Warning.

In Northern Ireland, meanwhile, all six counties will be affected by a Status Yellow wind warning that had been issued by the Met Office on Thursday. It will come into effect at 3am on Sunday morning and remain in place until 3pm on Sunday afternoon, with “some disruption” expected as a result.
