Smith (hand) will be included on the Dodgers' wild-card roster but available only in a pinch-hitting capacity, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Smith has played just one game since Sept. 3 due to a fracture in his right hand but did some live hitting during Monday's team workout without issue.
Ahead of the club’s season finale on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, the Dodgers announced via manager Dave Roberts that Smith recovered “fine” after swinging yesterday, but he needs to progress to live at-bats tomorrow in order to be activated in time on Tuesday (h/t MLB .com’s Sonja Chen).
