Venus Williams has accepted a wild-card invitation to play singles at this month’s DC Open. It would be the seven-time Grand Slam champion’s first tournament in more than a year.

Venus Williams will return to the tennis court for the first time in more than a year at the 2025 DC Open, tournament organizers announced Friday.

Williams, 45, has accepted a main draw wild card for the Mubadala Citi DC Open, which takes place in Washington, DC, later this month. A combined WTA Tour and ATP Tour event, main draw play is scheduled for July 21-27.
