New Jersey Devils leading scorer Jack Hughes had shoulder surgery and is out for the season. The team said Hughes had surgery on his right shoulder on Wednesday with the expectation that he will be ready for training camp.

The New Jersey Devils’ season took a major turn when Jack Hughes suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday night's 2-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. The injury occurred when Hughes was inadvertently tripped by Vegas forward Jack Eichel,

"Obviously, it didn't look good," Devils coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters about Jack Hughes' injury after the loss to Vegas.
