Wildfire Smoke Chokes Canada and U.S., Triggering Air Quality Alerts
Canada is battling more than 700 active wildfires across the country, roughly two-thirds of which are burning out of control, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center (CIFFC). Canada had 461 active fires as of Wednesday morning, and 236 were considered "out of control," according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre. Ontario had 65 active fires.
