Forecasters early Wednesday were warning of dangerous surf and "life-threatening" rip currents at beaches of the northern Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda and much of the U.S. East Coast as Hurricane Humberto continued its way north across the Atlantic.

Hurricane Humberto is churning in the Atlantic Ocean as a Category 1 storm and is expected to become post-tropical later Wednesday after it underwent rapid intensification over the weekend and became a monster Category 5 hurricane.
