Washington Commanders make roster moves after this week's injuries
In another move, the Commanders signed cornerback Tre Hawkins to the practice squad. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Hawkins was a sixth-round pick by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL draft. New York waived Hawkins during final roster cuts this summer.
The Detroit Lions (5-3) came out of their bye week lagging and were punished for it with an upset loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. Now the Lions head on the road to face the Washington Commanders (3-6) amid a four-game losing streak and an injury report that just keeps getting longer.
Tre Harris was picked in the 6th round out of Old Dominion by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL draft. He started 4 games over two seasons, before a spine injury ended his season in Week 14 last year. He was released by New York with an injury designation, and now joins the Commanders practice squad.
