Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell had an early exit in Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces with what appeared to be a left leg injury, but was later revealed to be lower body cramping. The incident left the Fever even more shorthanded than usual and they ultimately suffered a 98-107 loss in overtime.
The spotlight, however, quickly turned to star guard Kelsey Mitchell, who went down in pain late in the game and had to be helped to the locker room after being ruled out with a lower-body injury. She was transported to the hospital, and on Wednesday morning, the Fever confirmed that Mitchell had suffered from extreme cramping.
The Las Vegas Aces have advanced to their third WNBA Finals in the past four seasons after their thrilling overtime win over the Indiana Fever on September 30.
