Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is on PC, giving more players a chance to experience the game, including on Steam Deck. Unfortunately, it's also been cracked by pirates, with some estimates of torrents going up within an hour of launch.

The director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has asked people to hold back the reins with inappropriate mods, but otherwise has great respect for the mod scene and enjoys the fan output himself.

Evidently, FF7 Rebirth is another SSD -hogging gigantogame, though for some the bigger concern will be those minimum GPU specs. While none of the Radeon, RX 6600, Arc A580, or RTX 2060 are high-end cards in themselves, the official listings' emphasis on meeting at least these specific hardware generations does reveal an unusually high fussiness.

One of the best games of 2024 finally comes to PC, and with multiple new features and quality of life improvements.
