In recent years, however, the franchise has faced public backlash following Rowling's anti-transgender comments and support for others with anti-transgender views beginning in 2020.
"I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous," said the 'Harry Potter' author in the wake of another social media clash over her transphobia.
"I'm just so happy not to be divorced yet," Emma Watson said when asked what goes through her mind when people question why she isn't married.
