Report: De'Anthony Melton expected to miss the start of the season
According to Anthony Slater of ESPN, Melton is still in the late stages of his ACL injury rehab. The Warriors anticipate Melton will miss the "early portion" of the regular season, per Slater.
The Warriors are finally filling out their roster after an offseason of inactivity necessitated by Jonathan Kuminga's free agency.
News of agreed-upon deals for Al Horford, De'Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II came in just prior to media day, which Golden State Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga notably did not attend.
Reserve forward Gui Santos re-signed with the team just before free agency, and rookie second round picks Will Richard and Alex Toohey reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal with the Warriors. Training camp begins on Tuesday, and the team’s first preseason game is on Sunday at Chase Center against the Lakers.
