Richmond Mayor Danny Avula is holding a press conference Friday morning in which he plans to address updates on water service, the city water treatment plant, tests of the water and preparation ahead of the expected winter storm.

Richmond city officials confirmed that the first round of water safety tests is free from harmful bacteria, bringing them one step closer to lifting the boil water advisory by Saturday afternoon.

Now that pressure has been restored, Hanover and Henrico counties and the City of Richmond all say they expect to remove a boil water notice sometime Saturday.
