A cold spell continues to grip New York City, with temperatures slowly climbing but remaining far below seasonal averages.

According to the meteorologist, a weak storm system that has the potential to bring with it a 10th of an inch of snow, is set to pass through the New York City area Monday evening into Tuesday morning. The snow showers are expected to begin at 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve and last until noon.

Look for cold conditions to stay in place for another day. Afternoon highs will only be in the upper-20s to low-30s, and winds will make it feel like the teens and single digits
